Bubble check

Setup · Before every putt

  1. 1Set the head down behind the ball.
  2. 2Look at the bubble level before you look at the hole.
  3. 3Adjust your hands and shoulders until the bubble sits in the centre ring.
  4. 4Only then pull the trigger.
02

Three-foot truth test

Square strike · 20 putts

  1. 1Pick a straight three-footer.
  2. 2Line the full-diameter line up with the centre of the cup.
  3. 3Roll 20 putts and count how many go dead straight.
  4. 4Anything that drifts tells you the face was open, closed or off-centre.
03

Tee gate

Path & centre contact · 3 sets of 10

  1. 1Push two tees into the carpet or green just wider than the 4.25-inch head.
  2. 2Set the ball just in front of the gate.
  3. 3Stroke through without touching either tee.
  4. 4Narrow the gate as you improve.
04

See the hole

Target visualisation · 5 minutes

  1. 1Lay the head flat on the floor at 6, 10 and 20 feet from a cup or coin.
  2. 2Stand over it and notice how big 4.25 inches looks from each distance.
  3. 3Pick up the head and putt to the spot it just covered.
  4. 4The hole starts to look bigger — because now you know its size.
05

Clock ladder

Pressure & routine · 12 putts

  1. 1Place four balls around a cup at 3 feet, like 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock.
  2. 2Hole all four, then move back to 4 feet, then 5.
  3. 3Miss one and start that ring again.
  4. 4Use your bubble check every single time.
